New Machar School is situated in the village of Newmachar, 10 miles from Aberdeen city centre and 5 miles from Dyce. The school is non-denominational and has a current role of 365 P1-P7 pupils and 80 pupils in our Early Learning and Childcare Centre. The catchment area is the village of Newmachar and the surrounding rural area.
As an Assistant Early Years Practitioner, you will work closely with the Early Years Lead Practitioners in order to gain the skills and experiences required to fulfil the responsibilities of an Early Years Practitioner. You will be provided support in order to work towards an SCQF Level 7 in Social Services (Children and Young People) over 23 months. It is essential that coursework is kept up to date.
This is a fixed term post for 23 months. For internal applicants this will be a secondment therefore you must have approval from your line manager before applying for this role. If you do not receive approval but still wish to apply, it will be on a fixed term basis. (Please refer to the secondment procedure).
This is a Children’s Service Network (CSN) post. Initially you will be based in the location advertised, but you may be required to work elsewhere within the Inverurie CSN.
Fixed Term for a period not exceeding August 2021.

This post is regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
